Haluzická tiesňava, Natural monument near Haluzice, Slovakia.
Haluzická tiesňava is a narrow gorge carved by flowing water with high rock walls on both sides. Walking through it, visitors pass small waterfalls and cascades as the stream continues shaping the passage.
The site gained official protection in 1963 after centuries of being shaped by water erosion. Historical records show that structures and settlements once existed nearby before water erosion altered the landscape.
The gorge contains seven educational panels along its path, providing information about local nature and geological processes to visiting groups.
Access starts near the village parking area and involves a downhill walking trail into the canyon. The path is open to visitors and requires moderate physical fitness to navigate safely.
The Haluzický stream actively reshapes the gorge each year through constant erosion. Visitors can witness how water continues to carve and modify the rock formations during their walk.
