Homôľka

Homôľka is a mountain peak in the Strážovské vrchy range reaching about 1,073 meters high and marked by thick forests and rock outcrops across its slopes. The forested terrain leads upward to the summit where views open across the surrounding region.

The mountain served as an observation post during 20th-century conflicts with fortification remains still visible near the summit today. This military history has left marks on the landscape that visitors can still notice.

Local mountaineering clubs organize annual winter ascents to Homôľka's summit, maintaining traditions that began in the early 20th century.

The mountain is accessible via marked hiking trails that wind through the forest to the summit and suit various fitness levels. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are advisable, especially in colder months when conditions become more demanding.

The mountain houses a specialized ski school facility that trains beginners through expert-level skiers in traditional Slovak alpine techniques.
