Kečka

Kečka is a summit in the Banská Bystrica region of central Slovakia. The peak rises to approximately 777 meters and stands within a forested landscape typical of this part of the Carpathian range.

The mountain forms part of the Carpathian range, which has shaped the landscape of Slovakia for millennia. Local communities have lived in the surrounding valleys since ancient times, adapting their settlements and farming practices to the terrain.

The summit can be reached via marked trails that begin from several starting points in the surrounding area. Good hiking boots and preparation for changing weather conditions at higher elevations are recommended for visitors.

From the summit, hikers can spot the nearby higher peak of Klátie, which rises about 2 kilometers away across the forested landscape. This view helps visitors understand how the individual mountains relate to one another in the broader Carpathian system.
