Lyžiarsky areál Štrbské Pleso, Mountain ski resort in High Tatras, Slovakia.
Lyžiarsky areál Štrbské Pleso is a ski resort in the High Tatras with 8.3 kilometers of slopes spanning different elevations from 1,380 to 1,824 meters. Eight modern lifts distribute skiers across the terrain and serve different parts of the resort.
The ski tradition here began in 1899 with the establishment of a ski school. This development followed the construction of a rack railway in 1896 that first made the mountain region accessible for organized winter sports.
This ski resort serves as a gathering place for winter sports enthusiasts who come to ski, snowboard, and cross-country ski together. Visitors experience the social rhythm of mountain sports where people of different skill levels share the same slopes and trails.
The resort operates daily from December through April, opening at 8:30 and closing at 15:30. Visitors should bring warm clothing and be aware that mountain weather changes quickly at this elevation.
The highest point reaches 1,840 meters at Predne Solisko mountain, offering a 3.4-kilometer descent through varied terrain down to the base station. This long continuous run is one of the longest in the region.
