Kamenné more

Kamenné more is a nature reserve in the Štiavnické vrchy mountains that spans several hectares and is defined by extensive stone formations. The landscape was shaped by natural geological processes that worked over long periods to create this distinctive environment.

The site received official protection in 1923, making it one of the early geological conservation areas in the region. This designation recognized the scientific value of the stone formations and the need to preserve them for the future.

The reserve represents a natural laboratory for studying geological processes, drawing researchers and scientists who examine the rhyolite rock formations.

Visiting is straightforward because marked trails run through the area and accessibility is good. Wear solid shoes since the terrain includes stones and natural obstacles.
