Tha Sala

Tha Sala is an administrative district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province that covers a significant rural area. It comprises ten sub-districts organized into numerous villages across relatively low-lying terrain close to the coast.

The district was established in 1897 under the name Klai before being renamed Tha Sala in 1916 when its administrative center relocated there. This relocation improved accessibility and strengthened its role as a regional administrative hub.

Local farmers maintain rice cultivation and orchard management as central activities that shape daily routines. These agricultural practices define how the community uses and values its land throughout the year.

The district is well connected through road networks to neighboring areas, making it easy to travel between regions. Its location between inland rural areas and the coast means visitors can reach both landscapes without difficulty.

The district borders the Gulf of Thailand to the east, creating a geographical blend where inland agricultural zones meet coastal areas. This transition makes it a bridge between two different landscape types and ways of life.
