Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary

Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected forest reserve in mountainous terrain with thick tropical rainforest and water sources flowing from Khao Soi Dao Tai peak. The landscape features layered vegetation that grows denser with elevation, and streams run through valleys carved into the land.

Established in 1972, the sanctuary was created to protect eastern Thailand's forests and the endangered species living there. This action marked a turning point in safeguarding the region's natural heritage.

Access to the sanctuary is via Route 317 from Chanthaburi, with basic accommodations and food options available near the visitor center. It is best to visit during the dry season when trails are easier to navigate.

The sanctuary features a series of waterfalls descending the mountainside in distinct tiers, with one tier having a natural pool where visitors can swim. These cascades are reached via hiking trails and provide cooling stops during exploration.
