Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Royal Buddhist temple in Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok, Thailand.

The temple complex features a golden chedi, a T-shaped main hall, and houses a Buddha statue from 1357 within its shrine halls.

Prince Bhikkhu Mongkut established the Thammayut Nikaya order here in 1836 before becoming King Rama IV of Thailand in 1851.

The temple walls display murals by monk artist Khrua In Khong, who introduced Western painting techniques to traditional Buddhist art.

The temple opens daily to visitors who can explore the public areas, including the main prayer hall and surrounding monastery grounds.

The ashes of two Thai monarchs, King Vajiravudh and King Bhumibol Adulyadej, rest within the temple's golden chedi.
