Wat Chedi Liam

The square-based pyramid temple rises 30 meters high with five tiers, featuring white-colored stone walls and traditional Mon architectural elements throughout its structure.

Built in 1287 during the Lanna Kingdom period, the temple underwent major renovations in 1908 when a Burmese trader added decorative elements and yellow-colored Buddha statues.

The temple incorporates both Buddhist and Hindu traditions, displaying various Buddha statues in different mudras across its four tiers and large lion figures at each corner.

Located 6 kilometers from Chiang Mai Old City, the temple complex includes an information center offering guided tours through the archaeological remains of Wiang Kum Kam.

The temple maintains its original name Ku Come Chedi, referring to its distinctive square base shape, which draws direct influence from the Ku Kut Chedi in Lamphun.
