Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Buddhist temple ruins in Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand.

Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is a Buddhist temple ruin in the Pratu Chai district of Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand. The three tall chedis built from brick and stucco rise side by side on rectangular bases, forming the main structures of the former royal compound.

King U Thong founded the temple in 1350 as a private chapel within the royal palace, where three kings were later enshrined. Burmese troops destroyed the entire complex in 1767 during the conquest of Ayutthaya, leaving only the main chedis standing.

The name means "Temple of the Holy and Magnificent Omniscient One," referring to Buddha as honored by Thai royal tradition. Visitors today walk among foundations where kings once performed private ceremonies separate from public worship spaces.

The walk leads across mown grass between the chedis and low walls, with shade limited. Early morning or late afternoon offers more comfortable temperatures for visiting the open site.

Each of the three chedis contains the ashes of an Ayutthaya ruler and bears his name in inscriptions at the base. Archaeologists found gold jewelry and royal relics in the partially looted chambers during the 1950s.
