Siam Paragon, Shopping center in Pathum Wan district, Thailand.
Siam Paragon is a shopping center in Pathum Wan district, Thailand, with several floors housing shops, restaurants, cinemas, and an aquarium. The complex covers a large area and connects retail spaces with entertainment facilities under one roof.
The building opened in early December 2005 on land that once belonged to the Mahidol royal family. A hotel previously stood here before it was torn down to make room for the new center.
The name joins the Thai word for the old kingdom with a French term expressing perfection. Visitors often see local fashion events and public performances in the large halls and on the plazas.
The complex connects directly to Siam BTS station and is open daily from morning until evening. Parking spaces are available in large numbers, and most shops and restaurants follow similar operating hours.
In 2013 this location became the most photographed place on Instagram worldwide. Chinese travelers especially come here to take photos in front of the recognizable entrances.
