Khlong Om Non

Khlong Om Non is a waterway that stretches about 17 kilometers through Nonthaburi Province, passing through several districts along its course. The canal eventually flows into the Chao Phraya River near Bang Kruai.

The waterway started as the main route for travel until King Prasat Thong ordered a bypass during the late Ayutthaya period to speed up journeys. This change reflects how the water routes of the region have evolved over the centuries.

Traditional wooden houses and temples line the banks alongside durian plantations, showing how people have lived here for generations. These old buildings and farms are still active parts of daily life in the region.

The waterway is accessible throughout the year, though water levels change based on the season and weather in the Bangkok area. It helps to prepare for varying depths and choose the best time to visit depending on what you plan to do.
