Wachirathan Waterfall

Wachirathan Waterfall is a multi-tiered cascade located in Doi Inthanon National Park that drops approximately 80 meters. The water splits into distinct sections on the left and right sides, with flow intensity changing seasonally.

This waterfall gained prominence after Doi Inthanon National Park was established in the 1970s. The park's creation opened the site to visitors and transformed it into a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.

Local hill tribe communities live in the surrounding mountains and have welcomed tourists to this area for decades. Visitors can observe traditional farming methods and local customs during their time in the region.

The waterfall sits at approximately 1,000 meters elevation and is accessible year-round. The best time to visit is during the rainy season from May to October when water volume reaches its peak.

During the rainy season, the high water volume creates thick mist that produces rainbow-like effects across the spray. This phenomenon is especially visible in early morning hours when sunlight breaks through the water particles.
