Wat Huai Pla Kang, Buddhist temple in Rim Kok, Chiang Rai, Thailand.

Wat Huai Pla Kang is a temple complex in Rim Kok centered on a 25-meter white Guanyin statue and a nine-story pagoda painted in gold, green, and red. The grounds contain several shrine buildings and pavilions arranged across different levels with landscaping and pathways connecting the areas.

Construction of the temple complex began in 2010 and finished in 2015, marking the establishment of a new spiritual center in northern Thailand. The project emerged from a desire to create a modern place combining Chinese and Buddhist religious traditions.

The temple blends Chinese and Thai artistic traditions, visible in the curved dragon sculptures and ornately decorated shrines throughout the grounds. Visitors encounter representations of different Buddhist practices in the way the space is arranged and decorated.

The site is accessible to visitors and has an elevator to reach the top of the statue, making it possible for people with limited mobility to visit. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended and checking visiting hours ahead of time helps you plan your visit well.

A hidden feature is the viewing platform inside the Guanyin statue, where visitors can look out through large windows at different heights to see the surrounding landscape. This inside perspective gives people an unexpected way to see the region they would normally view from the ground.
