Wat Phiphat Mongkhon

Wat Phiphat Mongkhon is a Buddhist temple in Thung Saliam featuring multiple pavilions and buildings with detailed architectural craftsmanship, centered around a grand hall with a distinctive blue Burmese-style roof. The complex spreads across a large area with carefully designed structures throughout.

Archaeological evidence shows that this temple site dates back about 700 years to the Sukhothai period. Original foundations and ancient structures now lie beneath the current ground level.

This temple serves as a Buddhist learning center where visitors and practitioners come to study and meditate on spiritual teachings. People from different parts of Thailand visit here to deepen their practice and understanding.

Visitors should bring plenty of water and wear sturdy footwear since the temple grounds are expansive with limited shaded areas. The site requires moderate walking and can be quite warm during midday hours.

The temple houses a notable Buddha image cast from pure gold and kept in a specially controlled chamber to protect it. This precious statue is one of the sanctuary's most treasured possessions.
