Wat Khao Cha Ngok

Wat Khao Cha Ngok is a Buddhist temple in Phrommani located near the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, displaying traditional Thai architecture with Buddha paintings adorning its interior walls. The grounds feature multiple structures including a hall built against the cliff face and walking paths leading to a small waterfall.

In 1942 a military regiment established a marble processing facility at the base of the hill to support regional operations. This development coincided with efforts to refresh the original Buddha paintings throughout the temple halls.

The temple preserves two sacred Buddha footprints on the mountain, which visitors access by climbing stairs framed with seven-headed serpent railings. These religious relics remain central to daily prayer and worship at the site.

The temple grounds are accessible by car with clear paths for exploring the various structures and areas. The climb to the mountain top where the sacred footprints are located requires some effort but is well-marked and manageable throughout the day.

The temple grounds contain Dickite rocks known locally as Hin Sabu, which were historically carved into writing implements for school use. These distinctive stones reveal the site's connection to local educational practices and traditions.
