Sicca

Sicca is an ancient city and archaeological site in El Kef containing remains from different periods that show how a North African settlement developed over time. The foundations, structures, and artifacts reveal details about urban planning and daily life across several eras.

The site began as a Numidian settlement that later became a Roman city, maintaining its importance through farming and trade until the Byzantine period. The different phases of settlement and use are visible in the layers of archaeological remains.

Access to the site works best with a local guide who can explain the different excavation areas and findings. The cooler part of the day is better for visiting since there is little shade across the site.
