Segermes

Segermes is an archaeological site spread across a large area with remains from different periods of history. You can find the ruins of old bath buildings, churches, water storage tanks, and other structures that researchers have partially uncovered.

During Roman times, this place became an important town with a central market area and official buildings. The people living here were part of a large empire that controlled many lands.

The site shows how different peoples lived here one after another, each leaving their own buildings and ways of doing things. Walking through, you can see how building styles and daily life changed across the centuries.

The site is located some distance from the nearest larger town, so it makes sense to allow time to explore the area properly. Wearing sturdy shoes is recommended since you will be walking on uneven ground with scattered stones.

This location has two separate ancient churches with different features, one of which has preserved a beautiful entrance doorway. The other church holds colorful floor patterns and an old water basin used for baptisms.
