German Fountain, Fountain in Turkey
The German Fountain is an ornate gazebo style fountain in the northern end of old hippodrome, Istanbul.
It was constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperor Wilhelm II's visit to Istanbul in 1898.
The fountain is a symbol of German and Turkish friendship.
Visitors can view the fountain's intricate details and the surrounding area of Sultanahmet Square.
Its octagonal dome features eight marble columns, and a mosaic interior adorned with gold mosaics.
