Karabük Province, Administrative division in northern Anatolia, Turkey

Karabük Province is an administrative region in north-central Anatolia that sits between Ankara and the Black Sea coast. The province encompasses six districts and includes Safranbolu, a town recognized for its historical architecture and settlement patterns.

The province was established in 1995 by separating territories from Zonguldak and Çankırı provinces. A steel factory created then transformed the area into an industrial hub that shaped its development.

Safranbolu stands out for its distinctive wooden and stone houses that showcase traditional construction methods from past centuries. Walking through its streets reveals how residents historically built homes that remain standing today.

The region connects through highways and rail lines to nearby cities and transportation hubs. Visitors should expect variable weather depending on the season and dress appropriately, especially during colder months.

The Kardemir steel facility processes raw materials extracted locally from the region's mineral deposits. The factory relies on coal shipped from neighboring areas, making it a significant economic employer that draws resources from multiple sources.
