Forbes Köşkü is a two-story mansion with a distinctive tower at one corner and yellow-framed windows, built from stone and wood materials. The building now stands within the grounds of Seyfi Demirsoy State Hospital and cannot be visited inside.
The mansion was built in 1908 and reconstructed in 1909 following a fire that damaged the structure. It served as a summer residence for the Forbes family, prominent Christian merchants of European origin.
The mansion reflects the Levantine architectural style favored by European merchant families who made their homes in Izmir during the Ottoman period. This design choice shaped how affluent foreign residents experienced daily life in the city.
The building can be viewed from outside as it sits on hospital grounds. Visitors should be aware that access to the hospital area is limited, so viewing the mansion's exterior is the best option.
