Bo Yang Museum, University museum in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan
The Bo Yang Museum is a school building within the Art District of the National University of Tainan, occupying two floors with four distinct exhibition areas. The spaces display literary works, personal belongings, and documents that chronicle the author's life and intellectual journey.
The institution opened in June 2007 after initial planning discussions began in November 2006. Its creation emerged from efforts to make the author's extensive private collections accessible to the public.
The museum preserves Bo Yang's legacy by displaying his literary works, personal artifacts, and historical documents that shaped Taiwanese cultural thought. Visitors can observe how these collections reflect the author's intellectual development and influence on the island's literary tradition.
Visitors must book their visit at least seven days in advance to ensure entry to the facility. Opening hours are 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:30 from Wednesday through Sunday, with a midday break between sessions.
The museum contains a recreation of Bo Yang's Garden House living room, where the author developed his most influential works. Visitors can step into the actual setting that shaped his creative output and see how he lived while writing.
