Huangxi Academy, Chinese temple and academy in Dadu, Taiwan

The Huangxi Academy building combines traditional Chinese courtyard design with temple architecture, featuring a central worship pavilion and two extending wings.

Established in 1888 as an extension of Wenchang Temple, the academy faced closure during Japanese rule and underwent restoration work starting in 1984.

The academy building incorporates southern Fujian architectural elements with five roof sections and six wallow tails, reflecting late Qing Dynasty design principles.

Located southwest of Dadu Station on the Taiwan Railways, the academy opens daily from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM for visitors.

Two moon gates near the Sanchuan Hall form Chinese crabapple flower shapes through precise brick layering techniques, creating distinct floral patterns.
