Yide Mansion

The Yide Mansion is a two-story building featuring Western architectural elements and decorated cement finishes on its exterior walls. The structure displays ornate facades with a combination of design details typical of early 20th-century construction methods.

The mansion was built in 1930 and belonged to Lin Mao Yang, a member of the prominent Shengang family who rose through local connections. Later it became military family housing for high-ranking officers before being converted into a heritage site.

The mansion mixes Taiwanese and Western architectural styles, showing how the island's building traditions changed during its early development. You can see this blend in both the external decoration and the overall design of the structure.

The building is well-located with dedicated parking nearby and is accessible on foot from the surrounding area. Visitors should check opening hours in advance and plan for a short walk if arriving from other parts of the district.

The building went through different phases of use, first as a private residence and later as quarters for military families under the name Yide New Village. This transformation is an important part of why it attracts visitors today.
