內湖橋, Steel bridge in Neihu District, Taipei, Taiwan
Neihu Bridge crosses the Keelung River to connect the eastern and western sides of Taipei with separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians. The steel structure provides a wide and safe passage over the waterway.
The bridge opened in 1935 and replaced the previous ferry system that once connected Port Corner with the Upper Tower area. This construction represented a major step forward in Taipei's development.
The memorial stone displays names of local residents from Neihu, Nangang, and Songshan districts who contributed to its construction. This inscription reflects how the community took part in building the bridge together.
The bridge is accessible by several bus routes including Red 3, Blue 7, Blue 27, 222, 645, and 646. The nearest stop is located at the Ruiguang Port Corner intersection.
The construction project was funded through donations from residents across three districts, with contributions recorded on the memorial stone. This community approach was uncommon for infrastructure projects at that time.
