Dacang Mazu Cultural Park, Religious cultural park in Baisha Township, Taiwan
Dacang Mazu Cultural Park is a recreation area in Baisha Township dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu. The grounds bring together exhibits, statues, and traditional architectural elements that showcase the heritage surrounding her worship.
The park was founded starting in 2015 after Felicity Wang initiated a movement inspired by a vow to Mazu during her chemotherapy treatment. This personal event led to the creation of this place dedicated to honoring the goddess.
The park displays rituals and customs connected to the worship of this sea goddess, which hold deep roots in Taiwan's maritime communities. Visitors can observe how these traditions come alive through the exhibits and monuments throughout the grounds.
The grounds are accessible via National Freeway 3 by exiting at the Changzhi Interchange, or by combining train and local bus services. Visitors should allow time to explore the different exhibition areas and enjoy the setting during pleasant weather conditions.
The grounds host regular educational programs and ceremonies where visitors can experience traditional Mazu worship customs firsthand. These events provide an opportunity to understand the living heritage of this tradition.
