Ostroh Castle, Medieval defensive castle in Ostroh, Ukraine.
The castle complex contains four principal structures including the Guard Tower, New Tower, Bohoiavlenska Church, and a 1905 Belltower on an elevated oval plaza.
Following the destruction of wooden fortifications by Mongols in 1241, the Ostrogski family acquired the town in the late 14th century and constructed the stone castle.
The Guard Tower houses the Ethnography and History Museum, while the Lutsk Tower functions as a museum dedicated to the history of book printing.
The castle grounds include a deep well in the basement, and the Stone Tower features walls up to 2.6 meters thick with multiple rooms across several floors.
Natural defenses enhance the fortification with high cliffs on the southern and eastern sides, while moats protect the northern and western approaches.
