Rava-Ruska is a border city in the Lviv region of western Ukraine located directly on the Polish frontier. It functions as a key crossing point between the two countries and handles significant movement of people and goods across the boundary.
The city was established as a border settlement during the interwar period and changed political affiliations multiple times. Throughout the 20th century it was part of different states and repeatedly shaped by territorial shifts.
As a border city it is most easily reached from Lviv, located approximately 100 kilometers away. Access to the city is shaped by its position at the crossing between two countries, which creates specific conditions for visitors.
