Jesuit Church, Baroque church in Teatralna Street, Lviv, Ukraine
The Jesuit Church features a three-nave structure with Corinthian pilasters, reaching 26 meters in height and stretching 41 meters in length.
Italian architect Giacomo Briano constructed the church between 1610 and 1630, making it the first Baroque architectural monument in Lviv.
The church interior follows the design of Il Gesu in Rome with stone sculptures of saints placed in wall niches and decorative architectural elements.
The underground levels of the church remain open for guided night tours, allowing visitors to explore ancient defensive walls from the 14th century.
The bell tower, constructed in 1702, stood as the highest structure in Lviv until its dismantling in 1830 due to structural concerns.
