Janowska concentration camp, Nazi concentration camp in Ukraine

Janowska concentration camp was a Nazi concentration camp combining labor and extermination facilities.

Established by the Germans during World War II, it operated from September 1941 until November 1943.

The camp is notorious for the mass production of fake Soviet currency as part of Operation Bernhard.

There is no remaining structure of the camp today, but memorials stand to commemorate the victims.

Janowska camp served as a major transit point for Jews being deported to the Belzec extermination camp.
