Founded in 1898 as a private theater, the institution received academic status in 1920 and continued its operations through significant political changes in Ukraine.
The theater honors Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko by presenting both classical Ukrainian works and international plays translated into Ukrainian language.
Visitors can attend performances Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with the box office opening two hours before each show.
During recent events, the theater organized charity performances raising funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine while maintaining its artistic programming.
