Astronomical Observatory of Kyiv University, Research observatory at Kyiv University, Ukraine
The main building features an octahedral tower, four forged iron columns, and a cast iron staircase handrail oriented along the meridian.
The observatory, built between 1840 and 1845 under architect Vikenty Beretta's direction, stands as the oldest astronomical facility in Ukraine.
Scientists at the observatory conduct research in astrometry, solar physics, and investigations of comets while maintaining historical scientific instruments.
Visitors can reach the observatory using trolleybus number 11 or minibus number 496, with guided tours available through advance reservations.
The facility includes specialized foundations for stationary telescopes and rooms that open to outdoor terraces for portable instrument observations.
