Botanical Garden of Lviv Forestry Institute

The Botanical Garden of Lviv Forestry Institute is a garden containing around 6,000 plant species from around the world. The collection includes native Ukrainian plants as well as tropical and subtropical species distributed across the grounds.

The garden was founded in 1991 and has since grown into a major center for botanical research in western Ukraine. Its development was tied to the need to concentrate plant collections and research activities at this location.

The garden functions as a working research space where students and specialists engage with plants daily. Visitors can observe how the collection supports hands-on learning and field investigations into plant science.

The garden shelters around 85 plant species listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature red list. This collection of endangered species makes the garden a valuable site for global species protection efforts.
