Bratkivska Velyka

Bratkivska Velyka is a mountain summit in the Gorgany massif rising to 1788 meters, with large sandstone boulders scattered across its peak and upper slopes. The rocky formations create a distinctive landscape that dominates the surrounding terrain.

The mountain sits at the administrative border between Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions, marking territorial divisions in the Ukrainian Carpathians. This boundary position has shaped how the mountain was accessed and used over time.

Local mountaineers have developed numerous hiking routes that connect nearby valley communities, making this area a regular destination for regional trekkers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The area features multiple marked trails of varying difficulty levels for different skill ranges. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions at higher elevations and bring sturdy footwear along with appropriate gear.

The mountain displays clear vegetation zones, with spruce forests below 1400 meters transitioning to mountain pine thickets at higher elevations. This shift becomes visible as you climb and shows how ecosystems change with altitude.
