Waterfall Chervonohorod, Waterfall near Chervonohorod, Ukraine.
Waterfall Chervonohorod is a cascade on the Dzhuryn River that drops 16 meters high and spans approximately 20 meters wide, making it the highest waterfall in Ukraine's flat plains. The site forms a natural complex centered around this main cascade.
This site was developed in the 17th century to power a local mill, as shown by historical maps that feature a windmill nearby. This original purpose shaped the early use of the area.
The name Chervonohorod comes from the reddish soil that surrounds this area and becomes especially visible after rain. This coloring shapes how people experience and remember the place.
The site is reachable by public transportation or private vehicle, with a marked walking path leading to the natural area. Access is straightforward and requires only proper footwear for the trail.
The 0.7-hectare area connects the main cascade to a second waterfall called Maiden's Tears through a 30-minute walking trail. This extended path gives visitors a fuller natural experience beyond the main attraction.
