Chervonohorod Castle, Medieval castle ruins in Nyrkiv, Ukraine

The castle stands on a steep hill overlooking the Dzhuryn River basin, featuring two remaining towers from its original quadrangular structure.

Prince Karol Poninski acquired the castle in 1778 and transformed the defensive fortress into a palace with Italian-style terraces and stone columns.

The castle served as the residence of the Danilowicz family, reflecting the architectural preferences of Ukrainian nobility in the 17th century.

The castle ruins are located at coordinates 48.8040666, 25.5967426, accessible through the village of Nyrkiv in Ternopil Oblast.

The site's name derives from the red soil of the region, with Chervonohorod translating directly to 'Red Town' in Ukrainian.
