Anton Chekhov museum in Sumy

The Anton Chekhov museum occupies the western wing of the Lintvarev family estate and displays recreated rooms from 1888 to 1889. The exhibition includes furniture, objects, and documents that trace his activities during those years.

The museum was established in 1960 to mark the centenary of the writer's birth. It preserves the memory of a significant period in Chekhov's life that unfolded in this region.

The museum displays personal items and writings from Chekhov's time in Sumy that show how he lived between writing and medical work. Visitors can see manuscripts and photographs showing how he split his days between creating literature and helping people in the community.
