Kyiv velotrack

The Kyiv velotrack is a cycling stadium in central Kyiv with a 285.7 meter concrete and wooden track designed for different racing disciplines. The facility includes multiple specialized surfaces and an attached cycling school where newcomers can learn the sport.

The stadium was built in 1913 and initially served the city as a multipurpose entertainment center. After decades of use, it underwent major renovation work in 2017 after local activists prevented its demolition.

The velodrome complex was originally designed as a recreational center for Kyiv residents, featuring a summer theater and orchestra alongside the cycling track. This cultural function still shapes how locals view the place today as a gathering spot.

The velotrack seats about 2000 spectators and has specialized areas for competitions and training sessions throughout the year. Visit during the cycling season when events are held to experience the venue at its most active.

The facility ranks among Europe's top cycling venues and features a central ramp where trick cyclists perform their skills in front of spectators. This setup blends traditional track racing with freestyle cycling in a way that sets it apart from most other velodromes.
