Magura, Mountain summit in Skole Beskids, Ukraine
Magura is a summit in the Skole Beskids mountain range rising to approximately 1,360 meters in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. From the top, the view extends across the surrounding peaks of this eastern Carpathian section.
This peak was documented as a major landmark in early records of the Ukrainian Carpathians and served as a navigation point for mountain travelers. Over time it became established as a reference point within the regional geography.
People from nearby villages have long used this peak for traditional mountain journeys and mark seasonal changes by noting how the landscape shifts with each time of year.
Several marked trails lead to the summit, with the main route starting from the northern side of the mountain. Bring sturdy hiking boots and rain gear, as weather conditions at the top can change quickly.
From this summit, hikers can see eleven neighboring peaks arranged around them like a natural compass. This arrangement of surrounding mountains allows visitors to grasp the entire ridge layout at once.
