Sukil waterfalls, Cascading waterfall in Sukil village, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine
Sukil waterfalls is a water system along the Sukil River with two main cascades, the first drops about 9 meters and the second spans roughly 8 meters across. The two falls sit at some distance from each other and together they form a connected natural feature in the mountain area.
The falls developed naturally through the erosion of the Sukil River over centuries within the Skole Beskids, a mountain range in the Ukrainian Carpathians. These formations have shaped the landscape character of the Ivano-Frankivsk region for generations.
The falls attract visitors from the surrounding region who come to spend time in nature and enjoy the mountain landscape. People use this area as a place to walk, explore, and experience the river in its natural setting.
Marked trails connect the two waterfalls and help visitors navigate the area easily. The walk is moderately challenging and best done in dry weather, since paths become slippery when wet.
Further downstream the river holds additional waterfalls with multiple cascades that receive fewer visitors and offer a quieter place to explore. These more remote formations appeal to those seeking a deeper look into the river system.
