Malyi Gorgan

Malyi Gorgan is a 1,592-meter (5,223-foot) mountain summit in Eastern Gorgany with steep slopes scattered with large boulders and thick forests. The hiking trails to the peak wind through this terrain of rock formations and woodland.

The mountain took its present form during the last ice age when glacial movement carved out the steep slopes and boulder fields. These stone formations have served as natural landmarks for travelers crossing the Carpathian range for centuries.

The mountain's hiking routes carry stories passed down by local mountaineers who have long guided people across these slopes. These traditions shape how visitors experience the landscape and connect with the Carpathian climbing community.

Visitors should wear sturdy hiking boots, warm layers, and bring plenty of water for the full-day climb starting from Bystrytsia village. Weather conditions change quickly on the slopes, so dressing in layers and carrying rain protection are important for safety and comfort.
