Mykolaiv Yacht Club, Yacht club on the Pivdenniy Buh River in Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
Mykolaiv Yacht Club is a sailing club situated along the Pivdenniy Buh River in Mykolaiv, housed in a stone structure with distinctive architectural character. The building design originates from Leopold Rode's work in 1904 and continues to define the site's appearance.
The club was founded in 1887 by Yevhen Holikov, a Black Sea Fleet adjutant, making it Ukraine's first sailing establishment. The land previously hosted Prince Potemkin's palace before becoming a maritime center.
The club reflects the area's connection to Black Sea naval traditions through its name and everyday operations. This maritime heritage remains visible in how members and visitors interact with the water and buildings.
The club is located at Sportyvna Street 7 and is accessible by local bus routes 43, 79, 52 or tram number 1. Public transport makes reaching the riverside location straightforward and convenient.
A Turkish fountain from 1792 stands nearby, representing an important remnant of the region's past that underwent restoration in 1926. This historical feature shapes the surroundings and shows how the site reflects layered periods of history.
