Monument to Vysotsky in Mariupol

The Monument to Vysotsky in Mariupol is a two-meter-tall bronze sculpture located beside the Communication House, depicting the actor as a police investigator. The figure captures him in the iconic pose from the Soviet television series through which he became famous.

The first monument was erected in 1998 to mark the actor's 60th birthday, making it the first such memorial in Ukraine at that time. It represented an important moment in recognizing the artist's cultural legacy in the post-Soviet era.

The sculpture originally held a black pistol that repeatedly broke off during its time in place. After several attempts to repair it, the city chose to keep the figure without the weapon rather than continuing to fix it.
