Novopskov

Novopskov is an administrative settlement in eastern Luhansk Oblast located along a tributary of the Aidar river. The town comprises residential neighborhoods and local facilities organized throughout the area.

The settlement developed as an administrative center and served as an important hub in the region for many years. Administrative reforms in 2020 changed its status when it ceased to be the raion center.

The settlement's name was officially changed to Aidar in 2024 as part of a wider effort to revise place names across Ukraine. This renaming reflected shifts in how the community and nation approached their geographical identity.
