Bilolutsk, Urban-type settlement in Starobilsk Raion, Ukraine
Bilolutsk is a small urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine, located within the Starobilsk administrative area. It functions as a local center where residents gather for daily needs and community activities in this rural part of the country.
The settlement was established in the 1600s and developed gradually as a regional hub over the following centuries. It was reassigned to the Starobilsk administrative district in 2020 as part of wider boundary adjustments.
The settlement maintains strong linguistic diversity with Ukrainian speakers representing 94.6 percent of the population, followed by Russian at 4.8 percent.
When visiting, expect facilities designed for a small community rather than larger urban centers. The warmer months offer easier access to local pathways and surrounding areas.
Bilolutsk represents one of the last urban-type settlements in Ukraine before the 2024 administrative reform eliminates this classification nationwide.
