Sentianivka, Urban settlement in Slovianoserbsk Raion, Ukraine.
Sentianivka is an urban settlement in the Slovianoserbsk Raion situated along the Luhan River. The community spreads across a location roughly 43 kilometers northwest of Luhansk city at an elevation of about 66 meters above sea level.
The settlement formed between 1860 and 1880 when three villages were established on land owned by a retired hussar officer from Bakhmut. A railway station built between 1908 and 1910 later connected the community to surrounding areas in the region.
The 2001 census revealed a population distribution of 61 percent Ukrainian speakers and 37.87 percent Russian speakers, reflecting the regional linguistic composition.
The settlement has a railway station that offers train connections to neighboring communities. The best time to visit is during warmer months when accessibility and ease of movement around the area are greatest.
In 1901 the settlement witnessed a moment of uprising when residents destroyed a brick factory and grain stores as protest against landlord exploitation. The incident prompted a military response from Cossack forces.
