Lisopark

Lisopark is a forest park located in the northwestern part of Kharkiv, featuring vast areas of native oak, maple, linden, and pine trees throughout its grounds. The park offers networks of walking trails, sports facilities, and picnic areas where visitors can spend time among the woodland.

The area began as a forest estate belonging to Kharkiv Governorate during the 1800s before being transformed into a recreational zone with walking paths in the late 1920s. This change marked its shift from private land to a public park for city residents and visitors.

The park serves as a meeting place where families and friends gather among the trees, with memorial sites that honor victims of World War II throughout the grounds. A children's railway winds through the forest during warmer months, making the woodland accessible and engaging for young visitors.

The park has multiple entry points and clear pathways that make it easy for visitors to navigate and choose their preferred routes throughout the grounds. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since trails and facilities are spread across the expansive woodland area.

The park contains oak trees that are between 200 and 400 years old, representing part of the original forest that once covered the region. These ancient trees stand as silent witnesses to centuries of local history and give the woodland its distinctive character.
