Iverskyi Monastery, Orthodox monastery in Donetsk, Ukraine.
Iverskyi Monastery is an Orthodox monastic complex in Donetsk, Ukraine, with buildings in Byzantine style that include a bell tower, monks' quarters, and agricultural outbuildings. The structures are laid out to form a self-contained community where religious and daily life take place side by side.
The monastery was founded in 1997 as a branch of Saint Nicholas Monastery in Nikolskoye, then became independent in 2002. From that point on, it grew into a self-governing religious institution and began expanding its buildings and activities.
The monastery holds a reproduction of the Iveron Mother of God icon, which serves as the spiritual center of the community. Pilgrims come here specifically to pray before this icon and receive a blessing.
The monastery is open to visitors, and a guesthouse is available for those who wish to stay overnight. It is worth finding out about prayer times in advance, as the rhythm of the day follows the schedule of religious services.
During the 2015 fighting, the church roof and interior were destroyed while only the outer walls survived. The community has since been working to rebuild the church, restoring it step by step.
