Kruty Heroes Memorial, War memorial in Nizhyn Raion, Ukraine.
The memorial complex includes a stone cross, informational plaques, and commemorative elements dedicated to the defenders who fought at the Battle of Kruty.
In January 1918, a group of 400 Ukrainian students and soldiers confronted 4000 Bolshevik forces at this location, delaying the Soviet advance toward Kyiv.
The memorial serves as a national symbol of youth sacrifice and determination, drawing visitors who participate in annual commemorative ceremonies on January 29.
Located 130 kilometers northeast of Kyiv, the memorial site provides educational displays and detailed historical information about the Battle of Kruty events.
Twenty-seven captured students were executed after the battle, and their remains were later interred at Askold's Grave in Kyiv with military honors.
