Museum of Boyko culture, Local history museum in Dolyna, Ukraine.

The Museum of Boyko Culture is a local museum in Dolyna that displays traditional clothing, tools, household items, and artworks representing how Carpathian Mountain inhabitants lived their daily lives. The collection reveals practical objects and garments that show the working and living conditions of people in this mountain region.

The museum was founded in 1998 and officially opened in 2003 to preserve the heritage of the Boyko people. This ethnic group is considered descended from ancient Slavic populations who inhabited this mountain region for centuries.

The collection showcases traditional Boyko clothing with hand-embroidered linen shirts and sheepskin vests displaying distinctive geometric patterns passed down through generations. These garments tell the story of how people dressed for mountain life and celebrations in this Carpathian region.

The museum is located on Chornovola Street and offers guided tours as well as educational programs throughout the week. Visitors should check opening times ahead of their visit and allow time to explore the entire collection.

The museum documents the salt trade that Boyko people managed for centuries, transporting this valuable commodity over mountain routes until 1914. This trading activity was central to how many families in the region earned their livelihood.
